Therapy for adults and children in Colne or online with Leanne Barrett.
I’m Leanne Barrett, founder of Mental Care Therapies Ltd. I’m a trained professional with NHS experience and registered with the BACP, BPS, and NCPS.
I work with adults and children aged 5+, offering support with:
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Sometimes therapy starts with simply saying, ‘I’m not okay.’
I offer a warm, easy-going approach. I listen carefully and reflect back what I hear—so you can hear yourself more clearly. I’ll ask gentle questions, notice your body language, and help you explore your feelings at your pace.
In-person sessions are held in a clean, private space in Barnoldswick.
Online sessions take place over Microsoft Teams, offering flexibility and accessibility wherever you are.
Your first session will include an informal chat about what’s brought you here, how you’d like to work, confidentiality, cancellations, and any worries you might have. I’ll also follow up by email so you don’t have to remember it all at once.
Some children find it hard to put their feelings into words. Alongside talking therapy, I offer Sand Tray Therapy—a creative, child-friendly way for younger clients to express themselves safely.
I provide professional supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors, and group supervision for school staff using the Page & Wosket model. A safe space for reflection, resilience, and growth.
Online Therapy
Online therapy is live professional mental health counselling via the internet using Teams.
Online therapy provides accessibility to individuals who are disabled or housebound. Mobility can be a big issue when it comes to accessing mental health care.
Traditional, in-person therapy usually takes place in a therapist’s office and has long been used as an effective treatment for many different mental and emotional health problems. Talking to a professional can help you overcome obstacles in your life, gain awareness of the root cause of your problems, manage symptoms, and heal
Working in CAMHS I understand engaging therapeutically with children or young people can sometimes require creativity.
I provide Sand Tray therapy for children and young people as an alternative to traditional talking therapies.
I work in schools with teachers by providing group Counselling Supervision using Page and Wosket’s Cyclical model. Counselling supervision provides a safe space for professionals to use the services of a therapist to reflect the way they work and explore individual or collective feelings.
I offer in-person therapy in Barnoldswick, on the border of Lancashire and North Yorkshire, easily accessible from:
I also offer secure online counselling to clients across the UK.
At Mental Care Therapies, we believe therapy should be affordable, accessible, and work around your life—not the other way around.
